CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – “A dismal 20 on a scale of 100.” And she was  still being kind.

Thus a multi-awarded woman leader rated Gov. Eddie Panlilio for his “lack of concern and broken promises to senior citizens.”

Linda Gaddi-David, president of the National Federation of Senior Citizens Association of the Philippines (NFSCAP) Pampanga chapter, bared her sentiments against Panlilio Wednesday night on Talking Points aired over Infomax 3, hosted by Attorneys IQ Tuazon and Butch Jamon.

“For neglecting the over 100,000 registered senior citizens of Pampanga, Panlilio deserved an even lower grade of 10. I gave him 20 as he might get angry at us, but I am just telling the truth,” said David, who is also NFSCAP regional president and vice president for Luzon.

It was David’s initiatives in affairs of the province’s senior citizens that earned her the coveted Most Outstanding Kapampangan and The Outstanding Fernandino Awards.

“The Capitol is supposed to have earmarked P5 million for senior citizens. But we have not felt a single centavo of it. When we asked about the status of these funds we were told that over P2 million were used allegedly for the purchase of wheelchairs and nebulizers. Still, we have not seen anything of this yet,” David said.

David also accused Panlilio of reneging on his promise to give P70,000 for the Christmas party of senior citizens in Pampanga.

“I don’t know why he doesn’t honor his word  when he is supposed to be a man of God,” said Gaddi. She also assailed Panlilio for not supporting their members since the day he assumed his post in 2007.

Asked if senior citizens would support Panlilio’s re-election bid, David said she would not impose her choice on her membership. She said however that it would be difficult for Panlilio to gain the trust and support of the elderly.

“Not even if he would bring gifts and woo the elderly,” David said.
