Farmer wanted for rob-slay nabbed

IBA, Zambales — A man wanted for robbery with homicide was arrested in Botolan town during police manhunt operation against wanted persons on Tuesday.

Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño identified the suspect as Mark Emerson Racho y Barrientos, 33, farmer and resident of Sitio Bato, Barangay San Isidro, Cabangan, Zambales.

In his report to Cardiño, Botolan police chief Major Rolando S. Ballon said that Racho was arrested at around 8:45 a.m. by joint operatives of Botolan police, CIDG-Zambales field unit, 305th Mechanized Company, 1st Provincial Mobile Force Company, and Zambales Provincial Police Office  at Sitio Bucao, Barangay Porac, Botolan.

Suspect was served a warrant of arrest issued by Presiding Judge Santiago Manalo Beltran, Jr. of RTC Branch 69, Iba, Zambales for robbery with homicide docketed under Criminal Case No. RTC 13535-2021-I dated Feb. 16, 2021 with no bail recommended.

The suspect is now locked up in jail at the Botolan Municipal Police Station.

“The arrest of wanted suspect brings justice to the victim, it is also a clear message to all criminals that the Zambales PNP will continue to intensify and expedite its arrest among wanted persons even in areas under the strict community quarantine,” Cardiño said.
