SAN JOSE CITY – A 59-year-old-farmer was shot dead by motorcycle-riding tandem at Zone 12, Barangay Sto. Tomas here at about 9 a.m. Thursday, police said.
The victim identified as Antonio Malanda, resident of the said place, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the Heart of Jesus Hospital.
Investigation disclosed Malanda was driving an improvised tricycle, locally called kolong-kolong, when tailed by the suspects.
“The back-rider alighted, pulled his short firearm and fired at the victim successively,” a report reaching the office of Nueva Ecija police director Col. Rhoderick Campo said.
Investigators have yet to establish the motive behind the attack as well as the identities of the culprits.
Forensic investigators recovered from the crime scene seven spent shells from a .45 pistol.
