CABANATUAN CITY – Face-to-face checkups were suspended in city health centers (CHCs) amid threats of the Delta and Lambda variants of the coronavirus disease here.
In an announcement Thursday, the city government here maintained that all CHCs will have their hotlines open to quickly respond to consultations and queries from residents.
“Sanhi ng patuloy na pagdami ng kaso ng Covid-19 sa Lungsod ng Cabanatuan at banta ng Delta at Lambda variants, minarapat po ng pamahalaang lungsod na pansamantalang ipagbawal ang face-to-face checkups sa ating mga city health centers,” the LGU announced.
On Aug. 18, the city health office logged 50 new cases, 10 recoveries and three deaths. These raised the total to 3,451 confirmed cases, 2,991 recoveries, and 178 Covid-19-related deaths as of that date.
Of the new cases, 26 were female and 24 were male.
The fatalities included a 46-year-old woman from Barangay Pangatian; 56-year-old man from Barangay Barrera, and 74-year-old man from Barangay Mabini Homesite, all of this city. They were all jobless, the records showed.
Residents can reach the CHCs in their respective areas through the following hotlines, the LGU said.

Meanwhile, the city government continues to distribute food assistance to Covid-19 positive patients through the city social welfare and development office.
