A WEEK before the Labor Day celebration on May 1, Police Regional Office (PRO) -Central Luzon director General Rhodel Sermonia spearheaded the Joint Industrial Peace and Concern Office (Jipco) meeting, Friday morning, April 24.

The said meeting which was attended by the different heads and representatives of industrial companies in Central Luzon discussed the current situation of the different labor unions in the region and the approaches that should be done to address the possible massive protest of said union groups on May 1.

“For the part of the PNP-PRO, we are here to address security issues, complaints and other concerns in the workplace and combat lawlessness that disrupt peace, of course, protect the interest of every investor doing business in our areas of responsibility and to ensure the safe transport of goods and personnel in the Philippine Economic Zone Authority ecozones by detailing our PNP personnel,” Police Brigadier Sermonia said during the meeting. (PR)

SO APPEARED in Sunstar Pampanga April 26, 2020.

QUESTION: An assembly of people, in utter disregard of physical distancing in a closed area, at that! – absent face masks.

Is this not a clear case recorded in flagrante delicto – of flouting the enhanced community quarantine rules and regulations by no less than the law enforcers themselves?
