MABALACAT, Pampanga – Former Vice Mayor Prospero “Pros” Lagman will make a political comeback in 2013, joining the councilor’s slate of the incumbent mayor.

Lagman said he had decided to seek a public post due to the invitation of Mayor Marino “Boking” Morales. He lost in the vice mayor’s race in 2010.

Lagman, a pediatrician, served in various capacities for 22 years as public official. He was a former councilor, first district board member and vice mayor.

He won four times as vice mayor in tandem with Morales.

“We really need Pareng Pros (Lagman) as we aim to be a city. We want to make heath care one of the major priorities of Mabalacat City,” said Morales in an interview on Thursday.

Morales said that “this is also in line” with the commitment of Gov. Lilia Pineda to provide “optimum” health service to the people.

For his part, Lagman of barangay Sta. Ines said “it’s a privilege to serve as city councilor of Mabalacat if ever given a chance by the people.”

“I also want to help Mayor Boking, especially in helping sick and poor people,” added Lagman.
