CLARK FREEPORT – The Metro Clark Advisory Council (MCAC) has expressed gratitude to President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo for appointing a former Clark Investors and Locators Association (CILA) president as member of the Clark Development Corp. (CDC) board.
The MCAC, in its recent meeting here, passed a resolution thanking Arroyo for the inclusion of Francisco “Frankie” Villanueva in the CDC board. The other new appointee is Tess Laus, wife of former CDC President and CEO Levy Laus.
Earlier, the MCAC also passed a resolution endorsing Villanueva to the CDC board.
CDC public relations manager Sonny Lopez said “it’s an advantage to have Villanueva in the board.” He added that Villanueva “has influence in all the stakeholders at Clark.”
Lopez said Villanueva “has links to politicians, Clark locators, businessmen, members of the academe and even mediamen.”
Villanueva, for his part, said “he is deeply honored being chosen as member of the CDC board.”
“We at CDC should keep running fast the plans of PGMA to make Clark the center of economic activities in the country. We barely have time and it’s about 18 months more before 2010,” said Villanueva, chairman of the MCAC technical working group.
Villanueva, publisher of Central Luzon Businessweek and CFO of Banner Central Luzon weekly newspaper, is a B.S. Management Engineering graduate at the Ateneo De Manila University.
A consistent dean’s lister, Villanueva holds a master in business management degree from the Asian Institute of Management (AIM).
He currently teaches various management subjects at four universities – Holy Angel University, De La Salle University, Far Eastern University and University of the Philippines (UP) Clark.
Born in Angeles City in 1958, Villanueva is a director of Danvil Holdings and senior partner at the Taft Consulting Group.
