ANGELES CITY—The Eco Protect Management Corp. (EPMC) continues its environmental sustainability efforts through its 3Cs (Clean, Collect, Contribute) program, commonly known as “Lunes Malinis” (MaLu).
On April 11, two elementary schools received additional armchairs and trash bins, rewarding their collection of plastic waste.
Gueco Balibago Elementary School received 40 armchairs, its second delivery after collecting 720 kilos of recyclables.
Tacondo Elementary School in Barangay Margot received eight trash bins during its program launch.
Since February, the initiative has provided armchairs and bins to over 10 schools in the city, including Sto. Domingo Integrated School and Dr. Clemente N. Dayrit-LSE, among others.
San Fernando Elementary School in Pampanga’s 3rd District has also participated in the program.
Under MaLu, schools collect single-use plastic sachets, with one armchair and one trash bin donated for every 18 kilos of plastic waste turned in. The initiative aims to encourage waste-reduction practices among students, teachers, and parents, fostering environmental awareness in the community.
EPMC highlighted the impact of collective action in achieving sustainability goals. Supported by 1st District Rep. Carmelo “Jon” Lazatin II and the Department of Education–Angeles City Schools Division, MaLu continues to expand its reach, benefiting educational institutions and promoting sustainable habits.
