CLARK FREEPORT – An elderly male was recently arrested after claiming a package containing shabu worth some P345,000 in an entrapment operation in Masantol, Pampanga.

Police said Abner Bautista, 63, was arrested along the national road, Barangay Sta. Lucia Matua during “controlled delivery” operations last Feb. 23 conducted jointly by operatives led by PDEA-Central Luzon, Clark Inter-Agency Task Group, Bureau of Customs-Port of Clark, and the Masantol Police Station.

Glenn Guillermo, PDEA-3 information officer, said the package arrived at the Port of Clark from California on Feb. 18 where an X-ray inspector tagged the package initially as “suspicious.” It was then subjected to K-9 sniffing and field testing using Rigaku Rogeny, which led to the discovery of the shabu weighing 50 grams worth P345,000.

A charge for violation of Section 4 (importation of dangerous drugs) of RA 9165 are set to be filed against Bautista. PDEA-3/PR
