ANGELES CITY – Some 756 families will benefit from the plan of Pulung Maragul Village Chief Joseph “Jojo” Dimapilis to make urban poor associations in at least three puroks.

Dimapilis said Mayor Edgardo “Ed” Pamintuan had expressed full support to his plan to let his constituents own their own lots in a “win-win” solution with the land owners.

“The people’s welfare is our utmost consideration as we push for progress,” said Dimapilis as he announced that the welfare of urban poor in his barangay would his priority.

Dimapilis disclosed that the families are expected to benefit from his project as they will own the lots which occupy their houses. The beneficiaries are Puroks 1, 2 and 3.

He added that some 85 percent of the total residents of the three puroks are living in lots not their own.

“They have less in life, so at least they should have their own houses and lots. They are original settlers in Pulung Maragul and it will be a pity if they will be asked to leave,” said Dimapilis, who won via landslide against four opponents in the recent barangay elections.

Dimapilis stressed that “no progress will be attained if the people in the village are not living happily with us.” His village hosts the city hall and the Ayala-owned mall Marquee and other upcoming residential houses and units.

He disclosed that urban poor in Sitio Pader (purok 6) are “now close in owning their own houses.” Dimapilis said the village councilors “joined his vision to transform their village into a progressive area.” They are councilors Robert Dela Cruz, Jess Cortez and Pie Kintanar.
