SAMAL, Bataan — Bishop Ruperto Santos of the Diocese of Balanga conducted Easter blessings morning of Sunday on board an open vehicle in this town.
Holding a small cross with the Crucified Christ, the prelate in a pick-up bedecked with flowers blessed every one he passed around the Samal población and the villages of Calaguiman and Lalawigan.
Only a few vehicles were with the entourage. The song ”Lord, Heal our Land” by Jaime Rivera filled the air.
No other image of saints but only an Image of the Risen Christ was in a separate vehicle, also adorned with flowers.
Before the blessing on board the vehicle, Bishop Santos officiated in a Holy Mass at the St. Catherine of Siena Church in Samal attended by a few following enhanced community quarantine procedures.
Fr. Raymond Gutang, Samal church parish priest, assisted the bishop.
