Samal, Bataan: Filing of Certificates of Candidacy in Bataan started as early as 8:00 in the morning of Tuesday, October 1 like the “early birds” from this town.
Re-electionist Mayor Alexander Acuzar, on his second term; Vice Mayor Ronnie Ortiguerra and eight town councilors, all re-electionists, were the “early birds” who trooped to the municipal office of the Commission on Elections.
They all belong to President Marcos’ political party, the Partido Federal ng Pilipinas.
Gov. Jose Enrique Garcia 3rd, provincial Board member Tony Roman who will run as congressman vice his sister, Rep. Geraldine Roman, in the first district; and former Samal mayor Gene Dela Fuente, joined Acuzar’s group.
As to who the opponent of Acuzar is, is still not known.
As to why they filed their COCs on the first day, Acuzar said “Napagkasunduan namin na mas maaga mas maganda para makapagtrabaho din kami ng mga gagawin namin para hindi na namin iisipin ang filing.”
When asked about his priority should he win again this time, Acuzar said “Continue lang ang mga plano namin, syempre kasama mga ordinansa na gusto pa mangyari ng sanggunian.
Nakatuon pa din tayo sa pag-angat at pag-asenso ng bayan ng Samal.”
Those who filed COC for town councilor or Sangguniang Bayan members of Samal under Acuzar’s group are Marjun Bantay, Evangeline Buensuceso, Edgar De Leon, Erval Flores, Dylan Malibiran House, Lolito Llanda, Jaime Manguiat and Laurence Saldana.
