CAMILING, TARLAC – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac Provincial Office, in partnership with the Tarlac State University (TSU), held a seminar on managing finances for the 20 members of the Bacabac Farmers Producers Cooperative on May 16, 2025, in Camiling, Tarlac
Conducted under the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP), the activity aimed to strengthen the financial literacy of the cooperative.
Trade and Industry Development Specialist Krizia Dela Cruz emphasized the value of the seminar in addressing one of the concerns faced by the cooperatives.

“One of the challenges the cooperatives encounter is managing the finances of the group. This seminar will help introduce the basic concepts of financial management, from budgeting to investing. May this activity enrich the skills of the members and value the learning from this activity,” she said.
The resource speaker, Ms. Analyn Caymo of TSU, relayed the importance of financial literacy and discussed cash, budget management, and the roles of the cooperative in their financial journey.
Cooperative Manager Daniel Suelen expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to participate in the training and highlighted the value it brought to them as individuals and the cooperative as a whole.
“We would like to thank DTI and TSU for letting us be part of their program. This seminar is very helpful not only for us members, but for the cooperative as an entity,” he said.
In addition to managing finances, DTI-CARP plans to conduct product development for the cooperative’s existing tomato-based products to establish itself in a wider market.
