DTI Tarlac trains PDLs on starting up a business

TARLAC CITY (PIA) — About 18 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDLs) participated in a seminar on How to Start a Business at the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac.

It was organized by Negosyo Center Camiling in partnership with the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Florencia Balilo said capacitating PDLs with entrepreneurial skills while in the facility, may contribute to their rehabilitation and will give them direction to become economically independent.

“We hope that this learning event sparked hope and self-improvement among the participants as we encourage them to apply what they have learned when they reintegrate into the society,” Balilo said.

Negosyo Center Camiling Business Counselor Angelie Mikka Aquino discussed the basics of entrepreneurship and the services of DTI through its Negosyo Centers.

DTI, in partnership with various local government units, national government agencies, and organizations provide entrepreneurial mind-setting seminars and livelihood training to boost the micro, small, and medium enterprises in the province. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
