TARLAC CITY (PIA) — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac conducted an Entrepreneurial Mind-Setting Seminar for Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations (ARBOs).
A total of 25 members of various ARBOs from the municipalities of La Paz, Camiling, Santa Ignacia, and Paniqui participated in the activity.
DTI Senior Trade-Industry Specialist Divine Ramos said this is to open the opportunity for business to farmers’ organizations.
“This kind of seminar is very important among our Agrarian Reform Beneficiary Organizations so that aside from farming, they would have an idea about doing business and leveling up their produce,” Ramos said.
Tarlac State University representative Fabian Seguira discussed the legalities of business such as business registration, mandatory benefits of employees, and background on taxation.
Meanwhile, Jose Geaga provided an update on the business world particularly on product quality, current trends, innovation, maintaining good connections with suppliers and buyers, and how to achieve longevity of the business.
The seminar is also in line with DTI’s Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program, which aims to boost the entrepreneurial strategies of ARBOs with existing businesses and coach those who are planning to venture into business. (CLJD/GLSB-PIA 3)
