TARLAC CITY (PIA) — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Tarlac conducted two separate skills training on Meat Processing and Empanada Making for residents of Moncada town.
Beneficiaries include solo parents, barangay health workers, employees of the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office, and members of the Moncada Women’s Credit Cooperative.
DTI OIC-Provincial Director Zaida Garibay explained that the agency imparts new skills among the participants to encourage entrepreneurship that would generate income and employment in their municipality.
“With this training, we hope that we will be able to develop new entrepreneurs among the participants who would add to the community’s economic growth,” she said.
During the skills training, Business Counselor Renz Joseph Perez discussed entrepreneurship, business opportunities along with the steps and requirements in registering a business.
Meanwhile, Arceli Oriondo demonstrated the process of making chicken, pork, ham and cheese empanada; and the process of making tocino and longganisa.
The activities are in line with the agency’s initiative to assist, support and hone potential and budding entrepreneurs in the province of Tarlac. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
