DTI strictly implements price monitoring

    OLONGAPO CITY – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is strictly monitoring the prices of commodities in different supermarkets and groceries in Zambales and in this city.

     In a media briefing, DTI provincial officer Leonila Baluyut said that based on their weekly and monthly price monitoring report, prime commodities and basic necessities are sold lower than the suggested retail price imposed by DTI.

    In Iba, Zambales, goods are within suggested retail price with DTI and no reported incidents of price increases on commodities and continue so on a weekly basis.

    Supermarket owners informed the monitoring team that their stocks will last until the next two weeks.

    On other hand, the DTI will create consumers organization in every municipality of Zambales to serve as watchdog of prices.
