To support the Enhanced Quarantine being implemented in the country, the Department of Trade set rules on businesses which are allowed to operate and goods to be transported during the quarantine period. Under DTI Memorandum  2020 06 and 2020 – 08,  unhampered movement of essential goods was assured. Under the Memorandum, a list of business categories was identified by DTI to be exempted from non-operation. The memorandum was issued to ensure the fast and efficient operations of business establishments providing needed goods and services.

The exempted categories of business establishments include basic needs and prime commodities, other essential food and beverages, drugs, medicine and pharmaceuticals, medical supplies and devices and personal protective equipment, personal hygiene and disinfenctants, energy and petroleum products and services, raw materials, inputs and supplies for the manufacturing of the abovementioned products, hospitals and medical clinics, food preparations and water refiling stations, delivery services, banks and capital markets, power and energy, water and telecommunications supplies and facilities, waste disposal services, and other goods and services to be identified by DTI.

The DTI also advised retailers, logistics providers and manufacturers to apply for the Inter-agency Task Force ID for employees in establishments allowed to operate. Due to social distancing measures adopted by the agency, this may be done online by visiting the DTI website: www.dti.gov.ph/iatfid nd accomplishing the application forms. Depending on the business classification, the forms may be emailed to: manufacturers@dti.gov.ph for manufacturers; retailers@dti.gov.ph for retailers and; logistics@dti.gov.ph for logistics providers.

For other concerns, DTI can be reached through its online platforms. Clients may log on to bnrs.dti.gov.ph for business name registration concerns; on qualityproducts.dti.gov.ph for product certification.  More business and consumer information is accessible in DTI’s website at dti.gov.ph and you may engage with us through ask@dti.gov.ph or any of the social media accounts of the Regional Office and 7 Provincial Offices in Central Luzon. The public is also advised to follow or send their concerns to the official Facebook pages of DTI at www.facebook.com/DTI Philippines or DTI Central Luzon: www.facebook.com/DTI.Centralluzon or www.facebook.com/Dtiph Centralluzon.
