With the DTI tasked to lead and oversee the country’s participation in the EXPO 2020 Dubai, Secretary Ramon M. Lopez (center) presides over the first Philippine Organizing Committee (POC) meeting held on May 17, 2019 in Makati City.
Led by Lopez as Chairperson and Commissioner General, the POC for the Philippines at EXPO 2020 Dubai is further composed of the Secretaries of Tourism, Foreign Affairs, Budget and Management, Labor and Employment, Science and Technology, and Information and Communications Technology.
During the first POC meeting, whose organization was led by DTI Assistant Secretary and Alternate Commissioner General Rosvi Gaetos (seated, 3rd from left), the member-agencies through their representatives affirmed their commitment and support for the country’s participation in the global event. The creative team, led by Arch. Royal Pineda (6th from left) and Content Development and Curator Marian Roces (seated, 2nd from left), presented to them the theme, concept, and overall creative direction for the Philippines “Bangkota” Pavilion at the EXPO 2020 Dubai.
