ANGELES CITY (PIA) — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) launched the KapabalJuan coffee table books.
It has three volumes entitled “Love Pampanga”, “Manyagumpe”, and “Amánu” that features Kapampangan micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs).
DTI Assistant Regional Director Edna Dizon highlighted that they are pushing to come up with relevant publications to showcase the talents and journey of business owners in Pampanga.
“These books include testimonies of our MSMEs’ businesses which grew, nurtured, and are still growing in terms of capacity. We are proud of you, our MSMEs, as we can see how you started from humble beginnings to become grown-ups and mix with legendary business owners which contributed primarily to nation building,” she said.
Dizon added that the coffee table books aim to promote the potential of local entrepreneurs that can be at par with international ones.
In addition, DTI Pampanga Provincial Director Elenita Ordonio underscored that the coffee table books project is part of the agency’s efforts to support the MSMEs in the province by providing them with a platform to showcase their products and services.
“This is part of our rebranding. Instead of using English words in our programs, we translated their titles into Kapampangan that would make them easy to recall,” she added.
The coffee table books project is one of the many innovative projects of DTI Pampanga in promoting local industries and supporting the MSMEs.
Love Pampanga, which features 24 MSMEs, narrates how businesses were able to bounce back during the COVID-19 pandemic, and where they are now that things are back to normal.
Manyagumpe, a play on Kapampangan words “manyaman” and ‘”tagumpe”, features food MSMEs. The book shares their struggles and how they reach success.
And lastly, Amánu contains quotes from more than 101 successful Kapampangan entrepreneurs about their formula to success.
