BALANGA CITY, Bataan – The Department of Trade and Industry on Friday held its “Diskwento Caravan” at the Plaza Mayor here.

Yay P. Lasam, DTI provincial director, said this is the second for this year in Balanga after conducting the first caravan last August. She said that they accepted only products at discounted price of 10 percent and more for sale.

“DTI wants consumers to feel even for a day buying products at low prices,” Lasam said. The program is held twice annually in five provinces of Central Luzon.

For sale are vegetables, fruits, processed fruits, araro cookies, bags, walistambo, bottled bagoong, dried and smoked fish, processed meat, powdered milk, canned goods, coffee, among some others.

Consumers flock the caravan hoping it will be held more often.
