BALANGA City, Bataan: Former rebels, Overseas Filipino Workers and owners of micro, small and medium enterprises in this province were the recent recipients of livelihood kits from the Department of Trade and Industry.

Rick Quiambao of the Philippine Information Agency – Bataan said 70 individuals received P12,000 worth of livelihood kits each under DTI’s Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) program.

Quiambao explained that the PPG program is a livelihood seeding initiative designed to assist individuals affected by calamities and health crises, as well as those residing in isolated and disadvantage areas.

The program also included  former rebels identified by the National Task Force to End Local Communist.

DTI provincial director Eileen Ocampo said 56 beneficiaries received sari-sari store packages while the rest got specialized food and non-food packages, like materials for broom production and others.

Police and military officials joined DTI in the distribution to beneficiaries who were  thankful. (30)
