BALANGA City, Bataan: The Department of Trade and Industry provincial office opened Wednesday its three-day caravan at the Plaza Mayor here, offering up to 10 percent discount in prices of various products.
DTI provincial director Eileen Ocampo said the activity has for the theme “Balik- Eskwela Diskwento Caravan, Presyong Panalo sa Mamimiling Bataeño.”
It was held in coordination with the City Government of Balanga headed by Mayor Francis Garcia and the Bataan Consumer Affairs Council.
For sale are araro cookies, cashew nuts, banana chips, cassava chips, atsara, buko pie, vinegar, chili oil, siomai, pizza, cakes, bagoong alamang, bagoong isda, patis, tuyo, tinapa, dilis, sardines and various vegetables and fruits.
Also offered are shoes, sandals, bags, perfume, handicraft, bedsheets, garments, pillow case, blankets, mugs, cellphones and other merchandise.
Melody Bernardino said she sells dried and smoked fish at discounted prices. One-fourth kilo of tuyo (dried fish) in a styrofoam costs P90 per kilo compared to P100 outside while ¼ kilo of tinapa (smoked fish) sold outside at P75 is priced at PP70.
Gerry Santos, OIC division chief of DTI consumer protection division, said there are 53 participants in the caravan with more or less 30 DTI-assisted Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises. “Usually ang pinakamabili diyan ay syempre ang ating grocery items saka itong mga food products. Ito ang usually best seller.”
He said the caravan offers a discount of 10% and below. Santos invited Bataeños to avail of the low-priced and quality products from May 15 – 17, 2024. (30)
