TARLAC CITY (PIA) — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) capacitated members of Anao Integrated Crops Farmers’ Association Inc. in Tarlac.

They were trained on the basics of starting their own businesses and how to maximize onions in making jam, pickles, hopia, empanada and chips.

DTI OIC-Provincial Director Zaida Garibay said the activity is a collaboration of Negosyo Center Anao and the Municipal Agriculture Office.

It aims to help farmers innovate new and sustainable sources of income using their own produce.

“We coordinate with the different Municipal Agriculture Offices to connect with the farmers and help them add value to their crops and prevent spoilage,” Garibay added.

About 10 training and seminars are lined up for Anaoeños this year. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
