In time for the upcoming school year, the Department of Trade and Industry Region 3 (DTI-3) brings the much-awaited Diskwento Caravan to various provinces in Central Luzon, offering affordable school supplies to parents and students.

The Diskwento Caravan Program is a flagship initiative of the DTI that aims to provide low-income consumers with basic necessities and prime commodities at reduced prices, especially during peak seasons and in times of crisis. Conducted in partnership with manufacturers, distributors, and local government units, the program is a concrete effort to alleviate the burden of rising costs and ensure accessibility to essential goods.

The program has been expanded to include school supplies, in response to the needs of Filipino families preparing for the new academic year.

DTI-Zambales will hold its Diskwento Caravan on May 22, 2025, at the People’s Plaza in Botolan town, bringing essential school items such as notebooks, writing materials, bags, and uniforms at discounted prices.

Simultaneously, from May 22 to 23, a caravan will be held at the City Hall of Meycauayan, Bulacan, in coordination with local manufacturers and distributors, to provide residents with quality, budget-friendly school goods.

Meanwhile, a special in-store Diskwento Caravan will take place in Baler and Maria Aurora, Aurora Province, on June 12 and 13, giving consumers access to affordable school merchandise through participating retail outlets.

“Through the Diskwento Caravan, we bring relief directly to our communities by making quality school supplies more affordable and accessible,” said DTI-3 Regional Director Edna D. Dizon. “This initiative reflects our continued commitment to support Filipino families, especially as they prepare for the opening of classes,” the Director added.

DTI urges the public to take advantage of these discounted offerings. The Diskwento Caravan is part of DTI’s broader consumer welfare programs aimed at providing price relief and promoting fair trade.
