TARLAC CITY (PIA) — Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) awarded business kits to a total of 26 street food vendors in Paniqui, Tarlac.

This is part of the agency’s Pangkabuhayan sa Pagbangon at Ginhawa (PPG) Program.

DTI Tarlac Senior Trade Industry Development Specialist Ana Marie Tabamo explained that the beneficiaries were assessed, validated and profiled with the help of the municipal government.

She noted that those who have long been engaged in the food business were selected and assisted by DTI to encourage them in developing and formalizing their business.

“We hope to see your business level up. We want you [beneficiaries] to be open to possibilities and widen your market reach,” Tabamo stressed.

The aid also includes regular monitoring through the Negosyo Center to ensure their business growth and development.

“We are also looking forward to the upgrading of your stores and carts, establishment of good signages, and maintenance of sanitation,” she added.

Meanwhile, Municipal Administrator Edgar Galeon and Public Employment Service Office Manager Jamaine Mora advised the street food vendors to use the livelihood kits in growing their respective businesses.

PPG is a livelihood seeding and entrepreneurship development program which supports microenterprises affected by incidents such as fire, calamities and health disasters.

It also caters to identified beneficiaries of Killed-In-Action/Wounded-In-Action, National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict, and Balik Probinsya Program. (CLJD/TJBM-PIA 3)
