The Department of Trade and Industry – Region 3 (DTI-3) invites businesses to take part in the 2025 DTI Bagwis Awards, a prestigious recognition given to business establishments that uphold consumer rights and responsible business practices.
The DTI Bagwis Award aims to promote fair trade, encourage ethical business conduct, and recognize establishments that provide quality products and excellent customer service. It also honors businesses that comply with fair trade and consumer protection laws and implement Corporate Social initiatives.
Retail establishments such as supermarkets, department stores, appliance centers, hardware stores, and DTI-accredited service and repair shops may apply or be endorsed through the DTI Regional Office. Local government units, chambers of commerce, and consumer organizations are also encouraged to nominate qualified businesses.
DTI-3 Regional Director Edna D. Dizon encourages businesses across Central Luzon to participate in the program and take part in the agency’s advocacy for consumer welfare and ethical business practices.
“We urge business owners to join the DTI Bagwis Program, as this recognition not only enhances consumer trust but also serves as a seal of excellence in service and product quality,” Dizon stated.
Winning establishments will be awarded Gold, Silver, or Bronze Bagwis Seals. Bronze Award is given to those who comply with fair trade laws and established consumer welfare desk or customer relations office. Silver award is given to those who achieve the Bronze requirements plus a commitment to social responsibility.
The Gold Award is the highest distinction, recognizing businesses that exceed basic compliance requirements and implement outstanding CSR programs.
DTI-3 also monitors and ensures that Bagwis awardees continue to uphold high consumer protection standards, reinforcing the importance of ethical business conduct in the marketplace.
Interested businesses may apply at the nearest DTI Provincial Office or contact the Consumer Protection Division of DTI-3 for more details on the accreditation process.
