KORONADAL CITY, SOUTH COTABATO (November 29, 2022) – The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Region 12 was recognized by the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) as one of its national Sulong Bayanihan 2021 Outstanding Regional Partners under the Sustainable Livelihood Program (SLP).
The national recognition was personally handed by DSWD 12 Assistant Regional Director for Administration Bailano Salik, and Edgar Guerra, SLP Regional Program Coordinator, to DTI 12 OIC-Regional Director Flora Politud-Gabunales during their courtesy visit to DTI 12 Regional Office today.
The Sulong Bayanihan 2021 Outstanding Regional Partner award is a recognition of DSWD under the National Program Management Office for SLP to partner institutions that contributed to its community-based capacity-building endeavors to improve the program participants’ socio-economic status, particularly to the micro-entrepreneurs to become economically self-sufficient.
OIC-RD Politud-Gabunales said that the recognition is an added feather in the cap of DTI 12 and serves as tangible evidence of the agency’s productive partnership with DSWD and other line agencies in assisting the micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) in Region 12.
“We are very happy to receive this new recognition from DSWD. This is proof of how despite the challenges and restrictions posted by the COVID-19 pandemic, DTI 12 was able to still partner with DSWD and other line agencies in assisting our countrymen, most especially the micro, small and medium enterprises in becoming self—sufficient,” said Politud-Gabunales.
