LUBAO, Pampanga — A total of 2,379 farm workers from the municipalities of Lubao and Sasmuan received financial assistance through the Ayuda para sa Kapos ang Kita Program (AKAP) of the Department of Social Welfare and Development in partnership with the Provincial Government of Pampanga.

The distribution was personally led by DSWD Secretary Rex Gatchalian, Gov. Lilia “Nanay” Pineda, Vice Gov. Dennis “Delta” Pineda, Lubao Mayor Esmie Pineda, and Sasmuan Mayor Catalina Cabrera underscoring the strong collaboration between the national and local governments in addressing the needs of vulnerable communities.

Gatchalian emphasized that the aid was provided under the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to support farm workers who have faced difficulties in sustaining their livelihood due to the successive typhoons that recently affected the province.

Governor Pineda, for her part, expressed her deep appreciation to the national government and the DSWD for their continuous assistance to Pampanga’s agricultural workers, noting that the program provides timely relief to families in need.

Each beneficiary received ₱3,000 in cash assistance under the AKAP Program, along with food packs from the Capitol.

In addition to the initial 2,379 recipients, a total of 14,389 farm workers across Pampanga are expected to benefit from the same program in the coming weeks, ensuring wider coverage and sustained support for the province’s farming communities. Pampanga PIO/Photos: Daniel Ombina
