CABANATUAN CITY – A suspected big-time peddler of illegal drugs yielded about P370,000 worth of shabu in a buy-bust operation in Purok 1, Barangay San Juan Accfa this city last Saturday.
City police chief Lt. Col. Carl Omar Fiel identified the suspect as Rio Aberia, 43, resident of Barangay Ilaya, Las Pinas City.
Fiel said that operatives from the city police’s drug enforcement unit seized from the suspect 16 sachets, with a total weight of 54.3 grams, from the suspect in the sting that was conducted in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency.
Operatives initially bought from Aberia one sachet of suspected shabu using a pre-marked P1,500 bill, said Fiel in his report to Nueva Ecija police director Jess Mendez.
Charges of violation of RA 9165 or Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act have been filed against Aberia who is now detained at the city police’s custodial facility here.
