MABALACAT CITY — A “known drug peddler” in this city was shot dead by local cops past midnight here Wednesday, even as the “top drug personality” of Floridablanca town and two of his cohorts were arrested also on the same day.
A report submitted by this city’s police to Pampanga police director Senior Supt. Nicolas Salvador identified the slain suspect as Prince Tian Reyes who was killed in a police buybust operation in a house on Ilang- Ilang St. in Pineda subdivision in Barangay Dau here.
Reyes was reported to have pulled out his .38 pistol and fired at cops who approached after a police poser-buyer was able to buy shabu from him.
Probers found in the possession of the slain suspect one plastic sachet of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, several ID cards with names of various persons.
Police also said that the slain suspect turned out to have held up a person in the vicinity before the buy-bust operation.
They also said Reyes was also believed to have been involved in “basag kotse” cases and that he was charged with theft in 2015.
Meanwhile, the police also reported the arrest of the “Top 1 drug personality” in Floridablanca and two of his cohorts.
Top suspect Joseph Christian Matitu, 30, who has a standing warrant of arrest for murder, was nabbed in another buy-bust operation in Barangay Poblacion in the town, along with his companions Aljon Adriano, 27, and Carlo Paulo Ramirez, 29.
They were found with ten small plastic sachets of suspected shabu, two boxes of Chinese medical aphrodisiacs, and the P500 bill used by the cop poseur
