IBA, Zambales — Five drug personalities were arrested in a buy-bust operation leading to the dismantling of a drug den in Barangay Matain, Subic town on Monday.
Zambales police director Col. Romano Velayo Cardiño identified the suspects as Mary Rose Dela Cruz Fernandez, 31, of Purok 1, Matain, the alleged drug den maintainer; Erickson Mabulac Sanico, 41, tricycle driver, of Bangal, Dinalupihan, Bataan; Calixto Elizalde Alpazine Jr., 51, fisherman, of Purok 1, Calapacuan, Subic; Jojie Villaruel Cabariban, 27, of San Lorenzo, Sto. Tomas, Subic; and Ariel Angeles Pamintuan, 37, vendor, of Barangay JC Payumo, Dinalupihan, Bataan.
Subic acting chief of police Major San Juan Felmar D. Aquino said that at about 3:30 p.m., Monday, with PDEA-Region 3 as lead unit, joint operatives of the Subic police, the drug enforcement unit and intelligence units of the Zambales police conducted the buy-bust at the suspected drug den in Purok 1, Aplaya, Barangay Matain, where a police poseur-buyer was able to buy a sachet of shabu worth P500.
The police then pouncved on the suspects and recovered about 15 grams of suspected shabu with estimated street value of P105,000; the buy-bust money and several drug paraphernalia.
The suspects are now locked up in jail at the Subic Municipal Police Station facing charges for violation of RA 9165.
