CITY OF SAN FERNANDO – A drug courier was arrested in a buy bust operation by
operatives of PNP Drug Enforcement Group at a gas station along the North Luzon
Expressway in Barangay San Felipe here Thursday.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Benhur Abalos, PNP-OIC Director
General Vicente Danao, PNP Drug Enforcement Group chief Brig. Gen. Randy
Peralta and PRO-3 director Brig. Gen. Matthew Baccay rushed to the area where
the suspect was arrested and recovered from his possession 60 kilos of shabu
worth P408 Million.
“Ito ang kauna-unahan at pinakamalaking accomplishment ng PNP sa unang mga
linggo ng kanilang pagtatrabaho sa administrayon ni Pangulong Ferdinand
“Bongbong” Marcos Jr., kung saan higit pa nilang paiigtingin ang kampanya sa
pakikipaglaban kontra iligal na droga,” enthused Abalos.
Police initially withheld the name of suspect for further investigation and follow
operation. Also recovered from the suspect where the Starex van where the
greater volume of the illegal drug was discovered.
The suspect is now in custody of PNP Drug Enforcement Group facing charges for
violation of RA 9165.
