MABALACAT CITY – A 19-year old female who, police said, hanged herself was declared dead-on-arrival at the St. Raphael Foundation Medical Center in Barangay Camachiles here at 4:25 a.m. on Thursday.
A police report identified the apparent suicide as Gabriel Alpha Omega Teneclan y Guillera, a resident of 919 Magsaysay Street Quezon Drive, Barangay Dau.
According to the report, Teneclan was “having a drinking spree” inside their house together with her live-in partner Michael Andrew Emmerson y Serbito, 22, and other relatives at around 7 p.m. on Wednesday night.
At one point, Teneclan was told by her companions to go inside her room because she was already drunk.
But she reportedly refused and a heated argument ensued between her and Emmerson and her cousins. Shortly after, Teneclan allegedly went inside her room.
At around 3:20 a.m., one of her companions went inside Teneclan’s room and saw her hanging on the wall with a metal wire used as clothesline.
Witnesses immediately called their relatives who removed her from hanging and rushed her to the St. Raphael Foundation Medical Center for medical attention. But she was declared dead on arrival by attending physician Dr. Daniel Ticsay.
Emiliano Alburo y Paanustan, 45, security guard on duty at the hospital reported the incident to the police.
The initial investigation showed that Teneclan was under the influence of liquor at the time of her death.
