ANGELES CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the upgrade of a farm-to-market road at barangay Sto. Niño in Magalang, Pampanga.

The paving of the two-lane, five-meter rural road stretching about 1,207.40 meters was constructed within the allocated budget of P15 million.

DPWH Pampanga 3rd OIC-District Engineer Arnold Ocampo emphasized that the development in the area serves as a testament to the department’s commitment to addressing the fundamental need for efficient connectivity in agricultural communities.

“The project is set to improve the reachability of farms, providing farmers easy access to their agricultural lands. This not only reduces travel time but also simplifies the management of crops and livestock,” he said.

It will not only improve transportation by upgrading existing roads but also facilitate swift movement of agricultural products from farms to markets.

“We believe that by providing farmers with improved access to their farms and markets, we are contributing to the overall development of the agricultural sector in barangay Sto. Niño and beyond,” he stated.

The agency, in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture, vowed to continue efforts towards sustainable rural development and contribute to the overall welfare of the local community.(CLJD/JLDC-PIA 3)
