GUAGUA, Pampanga (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the paving of a 780.9-lineal meter section of Cervantes Road in Guagua, Pampanga.
Located in Barangay Sto. Niño, the newly paved road improves mobility for residents and motorists.
DPWH Pampanga 2nd District Engineer Gregorio Audea, Jr. explained that the project was carried out in phases, starting with a 470.9-lineal meter section in 2023.

This phase included a drainage system to prevent flooding and manage water runoff, with a budget of P19.79 million.
“Phase 2 involved an additional 310 linear meters with a total width of five meters, completed in 2024 at a cost of P19.79 million. This improvement enhances road safety and accessibility for both residents and commuters,” Audea added.
Local residents noted that the previously unpaved road created daily transportation challenges, as dust accumulated during dry seasons and mud made travel difficult in the rainy months.
With a total cost of P39.58 million, the project demonstrates the agency’s commitment to improving road conditions, ensuring safer travel, and supporting the area’s long-term development. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
