CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed an asphalt overlay along Valdefuente-Fortaleza Road in Cabanatuan City.
Residents and motorists can now enjoy smooth and safer travel in a project implemented by Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office.
District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad disclosed that based on a 2020 report, the 6.24-kilometer road that connects Daang Maharlika to Nueva Ecija-Aurora Road has an annual average daily traffic of 7,770 vehicles and is a common route for motorists heading to Palayan City, eastern Nueva Ecija and Dingalan, Aurora.
“This is an alternative road for those who want to avoid heavy traffic along Daang Maharlika, especially at the intersection of Nueva Ecija – Aurora Road,” Trinidad furthered.
In improving the 1.647-kilometer section of the mentioned national road, DPWH not only provided ease of travel for motorists but also strengthened the existing pavement structure and extended its service life.
The project was funded under the 2022 General Appropriations Act.
