ANGELES CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed improvements along the Angeles City Section of the Manila North Road.
The P202.47-million preventative maintenance project has two segments.
DPWH Pampanga 3rd District Engineer Arnold Ocampo disclosed that the first segment
involved a 1.85-kilometer asphalt overlay on the six-lane road from barangay Sto. Domingo to barangay Sto. Cristo.
Moreover, the second segment consisted of a 1.35-kilometer asphalt resurfacing on the road’s four-lane layout from barangay Sto. Domingo to barangay Sto. Rosario.
A notable aspect of the project is the integration of solar-powered studs along the road, installed by DPWH Regional Office III, which illuminate at night.
“It guides motorists and enhances visibility that contribute significantly to road safety, particularly in low-light conditions,” Ocampo shared.
The project likewise involved the application of thermoplastic pavement markings on road surface that also improve visibility, especially during adverse weather. (CLJD-PIA 3)
