CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 0.308-kilometer road project in Zaragoza, Nueva Ecija to enhance road safety and ease travel for residents.

DPWH Nueva Ecija 1st District Engineer Jun Vana said the newly paved road in Barangay San Rafael now ensures safer, more convenient access to the nearby church and three schools, especially during the rainy season.

“This project greatly improves daily access to schools and provides a safer route for students, protecting them from the dangers of flooded and slippery roads, especially during the rainy season,” Vana remarked.

Funded with P4.8 million under the 2025 General Appropriations Act, the project addresses long-standing flooding issues in the area that previously made the road hazardous for students, pedestrians, and motorists.

The initiative forms part of the government’s continuing infrastructure program aimed at improving public facilities and promoting safer, more efficient transportation in both rural and urban areas across the province. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Nueva Ecija)
