BALANGA CITY (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed the construction of a multipurpose covered court in Bagac, Bataan.
Located in Barangay San Antonio, the 364-square meter facility will meet the community’s need for a versatile venue for social and sports activities.
DPWH Bataan Sub (3rd) OIC-District Engineer Maribel Navarro highlighted that the new multipurpose facility includes lighting and a basketball goal.
“This addition resolves the village’s previous limitations in hosting events due to weather conditions and now offers a conducive and accessible venue for diverse events,” she said.
Navarro emphasized that the infrastructure not only enhances community engagement and quality of life but also provides a safe and convenient space for the community to organize activities.
She also pointed out the facility’s versatility, noting that it can serve as an emergency shelter during calamities.
The project received an allocation of about P9.68 million from the 2023 national budget.
This underscores the agency’s commitment to enhancing infrastructure for local communities, equipping Barangay San Antonio to better meet the diverse needs of its residents and foster community development. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Bataan)
