CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a slope protection project along Sapang Matwa in Lubao, Pampanga.
The P21.7-million infrastructure is located at Sitio Dampalit, Purok 6 in barangay Don Ignacio.
Residents thanked the DPWH for the completion of the project.
“Dati, nababara ‘yan. Yung tubig dito umaapaw [sa] mga halaman namin. Yung pagkakagawa niyan maganda, lumawak (yung dadaluyan ng tubig),” farmer Bernie Cordova shared.
For his part, DPWH Pampanga 2nd District Engineer Gregorio Audea, Jr. emphasized the significance of hearing people appreciate the project and gaining firsthand understanding of its benefits to the community and livelihood.
“It is the validation we need and the motivation we must draw from to continue our service,” Audea added.
The project was funded under the 2023 General Appropriations Act and covers a total length of 195.6 lineal meters. (MJSC/CLJD-PIA 3)
