GUAGUA, Pampanga (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a slope protection project at sitio Dampalit, barangay Sta. Monica in Lubao, Pampanga.
The P17.8-million project involved the construction of a 153.88-lineal meter concrete slope protection along Sapang Matwa Creek using structural steel sheet piles and concrete pile caps.
The agency also widened the existing roadway and installed wheel guards in the area.
DPWH Pampanga 2nd District Engineer Gregorio Audea Jr. emphasized that the project would ensure the safety of communities near the creek against flooding.
“These safety upgrades are specifically designed to protect motorists from potential accidents near the creek, ensuring residents and passersby benefit from a more secure and dependable transportation infrastructure along the said waterway,” he stated.
It will also enhance the overall safety and convenience of transportation for the residents.(CLJD/JLDC-PIA 3)
