CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a 562-lineal meter road project at Barangay Calzadang Bayu in Porac, Pampanga.

The infrastructure transformed previously unpaved and muddy paths into a reliable surface for daily transportation, significantly improving local mobility.

DPWH Pampanga 2nd District Engineer Gregorio Audea Jr. highlighted the impact of the initiative, stating that despite its short length, it has brought substantial benefits to the community.

“The newly paved section provides a safer and more dependable route, especially during the rainy season,” he said.

Residents have expressed their gratitude for the project, noting its positive impact on their daily lives.

Arman Macaspac thanked the government, saying the paved road has made walking more comfortable, particularly during wet weather. He also voiced hopes for continued infrastructure improvements in the area.

In response to residents’ feedback, Audea emphasized that the DPWH remains committed to local development.

He further proposed the concreting of the remaining unpaved sections of the barangay’s roads to extend the benefits.

The P4.875-million infrastructure was funded through the 2024 General Appropriations Act. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Pampanga)
