TARLAC CITY (PIA) — The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) has completed a new two-story, four-classroom school building in Capas, Tarlac.
The structure, located at Angelina Dizon Jimenez Elementary School (ADJES) in Barangay Sto. Domingo, is designed to ensure student safety and provide a conducive learning environment.
It features modern amenities, including electrical utilities, lighting fixtures for user convenience, a ramp for persons with disabilities, a washing area, and fire safety devices.
DPWH Tarlac 2nd District Engineer Edward Ricardo Ramos said the 437-square meter facility adds four secured and safer classrooms to foster an effective learning environment for students.
“This project is a testament to our department’s commitment to improving educational facilities and creating a brighter future for the youth,” Ramos said.
ADJES Head Teacher Rodolfo Muñoz expressed gratitude for the new structure, emphasizing its positive impact on the school.
“Of course, malaking tulong ‘yung bagong building, especially sa mga learners namin. Actually, kulang ‘yung mga room namin, so, because of that new building, na-complete ‘yung kailangan naming classrooms… Bago, maluwang ‘yung building, it’s not like ‘yung dati nilang rooms, maliit, siksikan sila, ngayon maluwang, komportable sila sa room nila. (Of course, the new building is a big help, especially for our learners. Actually, our rooms were lacking, so because of the new building, we were able to complete the classrooms we needed… It’s new, spacious, unlike their old rooms, which were small and cramped. Now, they have more space and are comfortable in their rooms),” Muñoz said.
The P12.4-million project, funded under the Department of Education’s Basic Education Facilities Fund for Fiscal Year 2024, underscores the government’s commitment to enhancing educational infrastructure and supporting ADJES’ growing student population. (CLJD/RPQ, PIA Region 3-Tarlac)
