BALER, Aurora (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed a multipurpose building at barangay Esperanza in Dilasag, Aurora.
The P9.8-million infrastructure has two floors.
DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal said the first floor of the facility is now used by barangay officials as a function hall while the second floor is reserved as an evacuation area.
“Barangay Esperanza is listed among the flood prone areas in Dilasag and this is the main reason why it is necessary to build an evacuation area in this area where the locals can take shelter during an emergency,” Andal explained.
The building with a total area of 600 square meters has six comfort rooms, six shower rooms and a dedicated comfort room for people with disabilities.
The project also includes four 450-watt solar panels and a 10 KVA air cooled generator set that will help the facility remain functional even if there is a power outage. (CLJD-PIA 3)
