CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the concreting of local roads leading to the Bangad-Fort Magsaysay Road in Cabanatuan City.
The P18.6-million project covers a total of 2,227.42 lineal meters that was implemented in 10 different sections.
DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad said the project has significantly enhanced access to the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology facility in barangay Kalikid Norte and improved connectivity to the national road from the agricultural communities in barangay Camp Tinio.
“With the recently paved road sections, I am confident that this will stimulate increased socio-economic activities in the area, affording residents enhanced access to key public buildings nearby and improving overall convenience and ease of travel to the city proper, thereby further enriching the overall quality of life for the residents,” the official added.
The newly concreted road sections will enhance travel convenience, particularly during the rainy season, by alleviating concerns about navigating through rough roads and water-filled potholes.
The project was completed in the fourth quarter of last year.
It was part of DPWH’s Basic Infrastructure Program funded under the 2023 national budget. (MJSC/CLJD-PIA 3)
