CABANATUAN CITY — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed this year four asset preservation and preventive maintenance programs in various primary, secondary and tertiary roads in Nueva Ecija.
DPWH Regional Director Roseller Tolentino said the preventive maintenance projects, which entails asphalt overlay, were implemented in the province’s high-volume roads to prevent early deterioration of concrete pavements.
“It also seeks to improve the safety of motorists and pedestrians with the installation of reflectorized yellow and white pavement markings,” he added.
In the 3rd congressional district of Nueva Ecija, 1.28 kilometers of road were paved in the Laur Section of Jct. Tablang – Gabaldon Road and Palayan City Section of Nueva Ecija – Aurora Road.
Moreover, a total of 4.96 kilometers of road pavements were resurfaced in the Gapan City Section of Jose Abad Santos Avenue and Gapan-Fort Magsaysay Road.
The road improvement projects, amounting to about P106.52 million, were funded under the 2020 and 2021 General Appropriations Act. (CLJD-PIA 3)
