MALOLOS CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed the asphalt overlay project along General Alejo Santos Highway in Santa Maria, Bulacan.
The pavement preservation project covered a stretch of 1.064 kilometers and includes the reblocking of damaged pavements and installation of thermoplastic pavement markings to enhance road safety.
DPWH Bulacan 2nd District Engineer George Santos said P15.13 million was earmarked under the 2023 national budget.
With the completion of the project, DPWH aims to provide motorists with improved road conditions, promoting safer and more efficient travel.
The General Alejo Santos Highway spans 29.8 kilometers, connecting the towns of Plaridel, Bustos, Angat, Norzagaray, and Santa Maria.
Bulacan 2nd District Engineering Office has jurisdiction and responsibility for maintaining a total of 13.66 kilometers of the infrastructure. (CLJD-PIA 3)
