CABANATUAN CITY (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed two multipurpose buildings (MPBs) in Nueva Ecija.
They are located at barangay Valle Cruz in Cabanatuan City and barangay Curva in Bongabon.
DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineer Elpidio Trinidad said the facilities are intended to be the village hall of barangay Valle Cruz and as an evacuation center that residents of barangay Curva can use during emergencies.
“The new MPB built in barangay Valle Cruz includes a session hall, two rooms that will serve as offices, a comfort room, and a kitchen that is provided with adequate ventilation,” Trinidad disclosed.
Moreover, infrastructure at barangay Curva is a covered court that can easily be converted into a temporary shelter.
DPWH has been supporting local governments through the construction of public structures that will aid local officials in enhancing the delivery of basic support services.
Both projects have a total cost of P11.6 million and were implemented under the agency’s Basic Infrastructure Project with funds from the 2022 General Appropriations Act. (CLJD-PIA 3)
