BALER, Aurora (PIA) — Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) completed two multipurpose buildings at barangay Poblacion Zone 2 in Dinalungan, Aurora.
The projects include construction of a two-storey barangay hall with roof deck and a covered court.
DPWH Aurora District Engineer Roderick Andal said the new P4.9 million, 344 square meter village hall has two rooms that serve as offices, a conference hall, solar panels, toilets, and ramp for persons with disabilities.
Moreover, the P5.39 million covered court has a total area of 600 square meters.
“These facilities can now be used not only as a place for the delivery of government services and recreational activities, but also as an evacuation center for residents during emergencies,” Andal added.
For her part, Dinalungan Vice Mayor Zarah Ian Comabig expressed gratitude for the completion of the projects as residents of Poblacion Zone 2 no longer need to worry where they can take shelter in the event of an emergency.
Dinalungan is a coastal town with a high number of flood-prone barangays, forcing residents to evacuate to keep them safe during typhoons and torrential rains. (CLJD-PIA 3)
